Day Trippin'

Took a little day trip up to Big Canoe last week so that the boys could see their great grandparents
for a little bit. It was a drizzly day, but we didn't let that stop us from meandering over to
Amicalola Falls. Didn't stay long, but we got our waterfall itch scratched for a minute.

Six flags

The other day, my friend Natalie from Huntsville invited us to go to Six Flags with her and her family that was in town from Oregon. On a whim we decided to go! We all had so much fun. The kids had a blast and played really well together, and it was really great getting to catch up with her! (Well, we did as much catching up as you can while chasing 4 kids around Six Flags, lol.) Thankfully she and I were able to break away for a bit to go ride Goliath! All in all it was a great time, and the weather even finally started to cooperate there at the end.

Lympic City!

After we went to Imagine It!, we walked down the street to grab a bite to eat at Googie Burger right by the fountains at Centennial Olympic Park. Oh. My. Gosh. I had THE best southern fried chicken sandwich I think I will ever consume. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. While Fico and I ate, the boys played in the fountains. (We came prepared with bathing suits and extra clothes ;) They had a splash! I mean a blast!

Once it was time to go, they both were about to fall apart emotionally. I mean flailing noodle arms and hissy fits... -_- Anders hadn't napped all day and Casen had been non stop for almost 4 hours straight. Bless their little hearts. They both crashed. Anders didn't even make it to the car. He passed out in his stroller, which he has NEVER done, mind you.... And Casen held out til we got to the car, but couldn't take much more after that. My sweet boys had so much fun. We might try to go ONE more time before the weather gets too cool.

A day at the zoo: Part 2 (Hey, that rhymes!)

I wish I lived at the zoo. So many of the animals we saw were just vedging like those kangaroos up top and the pandas and the tigers, etc. Man life would just be so awesome, minus the fact that I'd be living locked in a zoo, but you get what I'm trying to say ;)

A day at the zoo: Part 1

A couple of weeks ago, we decided to take a sporadic trip to the zoo. It was one of those mornings where Fico and I didn't have anything big we needed to get done, but we just wanted to get out and do something different rather than sit around the house all day, so we decided to load up and take the boys to the zoo right then and there. We told Casen that where we were going was a surprise and he had a fun time taking guesses as to where. None of them remotely close, haha. Fico did end up spoiling the surprise in the car by dropping the "Z" word just in conversation and Casen with his quick ears caught it before either of us even realized he'd said it. That child's brain is a sponge I tell ya. Anyway, that obviously didn't ruin the surprise as Casen was super excited THE ENTIRE TIME we were there. He didn't want to stop to look at anything in particular for longer than 5 seconds. He just wanted to runnnnn. Of course. He's a three year old boy, I'd be silly to expect anything else.

After we looked around at all of the animals, we went for a train ride and rode on the carousel. Then we took the boys to the splash park and let them run loose in the fountains. Anders, especially, was super cute because he had only just started walking a few days prior.

We really had a lot of fun as a family. It was the perfect day to be outside and there weren't too many people there since school was back in, so we really had a very pleasant day. With no meltdowns or fits!!! And of course both boys passed out once we headed home, they were worn out.

We have already talked about going back again soon.
