around town

We have been doing so much walking and strolling around the neighborhood these last couple of weeks. Up to the square and just around the block. We are really enjoying the beauty and convenience of our location :) and hopefully burning a few calories while we're at it. Really looking forward to the weather cooling down in the coming weeks and months -- given that ever happens -- and being able to actually do it for longer stretches of time before we die of a heat stroke. We are planning on adding a little biking action to the mix as well. Really excited about that :D

Here are a few pics that I'm finally getting around to looking at! Some from my phone some from the camera, but all around the house. We are getting more and more settled in every day, and it is absolutely our safe place. We love it so far and can't wait to make it more of a home every day. 

The boys and I left Daddy at home and are at the beach with my family until Thursday (hence the 

reason I am actually able to post.) There are LOTS of pics from this trip that Iill share soon :) 

P.S. The little chick that's in these pics (Twinkie) passed away last week followed by Buffy a couple days later :( We were surprised and devastated to say the least. Chewie and Skittles are still doing well, but we are thinking that Skittles may be a rooster!! If that's the case we may have to give him away once he starts to cock-a-doodle-DOO. That being said, I think we are going to get a couple more babies to round out the bunch and constantly triple check on them. We aren't sure what happened to our baby girls but we are going to do everything we can to make sure it doesn't happen again. I posted about the girls' first week here with the intention of updating weekly, but then life happened and I got sidetracked and then death happened, to put it lightly...

We had a really good weekend if I do say so myself! It was pretty relaxing, and the weather is close to perfect! Yay! Saturday we woke up and got straight out on the garage sale scene. Didn't find anything super exciting, you never know what you're gonna find from one sale to the next, but it was fun none-the-less. We went to go eat at Ihop for brunch and it was delish. Took the boys home for a nap and then I went out [on my own!!!!] to a cute little vintage shop in Five Points and to the mall. I pretty much need a whole new wardrobe since none of my clothes fit me from pre-preg. Ughh it's so frustrating still not being able to button any of my pants. I knew I shouldn't have eaten all of those Swiss rolls while I was pregnant. Snap! Sunday was even more lax. Woke up and colored with my biggest boy and sat the little one up in his new [$5 garage sale find] bumbo! Once Daddy rolled out of bed we took a little stroll. It was chilly but it felt so wonderful after this ridiculously hot summer we had! I made English Brown Stew for lunch. Umm, YUM! It's one of my favorite fall meals. I grew up with my mom making it and it is a super comfort food for me. Thank goodness I doubled the recipe and made enough for like 5 days worth of meals! Haha. Then I ran to the mall again because F21 was having a 50% off of sale items sale. Meaning I got like 15 things for less than $100. Like I said, I really needed that!
